Syria’s Newroz camp records new coronavirus infections
DERIK, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, an official in the Kurdish Red Crescent said that they recorded 11 coronavirus infections in Newroz camp, near Derik city, in far northeast Syria.
Ahmed Sheikhmous, an administrator in the Kurdish Red Crescent, told North Press that they recorded 11 new coronavirus cases in Newroz camp, including nine cases from one family.
“The medical team of the Kurdish Red Crescent is providing medical care for the infected and their health condition is stable,” he added.
“The Kurdish Red Crescent is providing the infected with the required medicines and is conducting patrols on an almost daily basis to know their health situation.”
“The Kurdish Red Crescent allocated a quarantine tent for the infected in the camp, but they prefer to stay in their tents and abide by the preventative measures.”
Earlier, the Kurdish Red Crescent recorded two coronavirus cases in the camp bringing the total number of cases recorded in the camp during the last couple of days to 13.
