Two rockets target US Embassy in Baghdad
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Two rockets were fired at the US Embassy in the Green Zone in Baghdad early on Thursday.
The embassy’s anti-rocket system diverted one of the rockets, a security official whose office is inside the Green Zone told Reuters.
The second rocket fell near the zone’s perimeter, security officials said.
Sirens blared from the embassy compound inside the zone, which houses government buildings and foreign missions, the sources added to Reuters.
No one claimed responsibility for the targeting yet.
On Wednesday, the Ain al-Assad Air Base in al-Anbar, Iraq, was targeted by a rocket, which came a day after a drone attacked the Erbil International Airport.
