Government’s National Defense arrests civilians in Syria’s Hasakah
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the pro-Syrian government National Defense Forces (NDF) arrested a number of Kurdish young men in the city center of Hasakah, northeast Syria.
Members of the NDF stormed shops and arrested civilian Kurds, and a state of tension prevailed in the city, eyewitnesses said.
The arrest came after the detention of a leader of the NDF by Internal Security Forces (Asayish), following complaints about him, according to informed sources.
Mediators interfered to end the tension for fear of turning into clashes that the city had formerly witnessed, the sources added.
