G7 concludes with promises on coronavirus vaccines, climate change
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, leaders of G7 summit in Cornwall, England, concluded their three-day meeting with promises on securing coronavirus vaccines, combating climate change and China.
Today, leaders of the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Italy, France and Japan concluded the 47th G7 summit, which was held in Cornwall, England on June 11, with promises to secure 1 billion doses of coronavirus vaccine, cut greenhouse gas emissions and to counter China’s resurgence.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, demanded the G7 leaders to help in providing the needed doses to vaccinate the world by the end of 2022.
He announced that the leaders of the member states pledged to cut the CO2 emissions in half by 2023.
The G7 leaders committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse emissions by the deadline of 2050.
Regarding China, the participants agreed on “continuing to consult on collective approaches to challenging non-market policies and practices which undermine the fair and transparent operation of the global economy.”
“We will promote our values, including by calling on China to respect human rights and fundamental freedoms,” the leaders of the seven states said.
