12 new coronavirus cases recorded in northwest Syria
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, the Syrian Interim Government of the opposition Syrian National Coalition announced the recording of 12 new cases of coronavirus in northwest Syria.
On its official account on the Internet, the Interim Government said that it recorded 12 cases of the virus and 24 recoveries.
It indicated that it had conducted tests for 171 suspected cases in Idlib and Aleppo regions.
With the newly announced figures, the total number of coronavirus infections in the opposition-controlled areas has risen to 21,995 including 653 deaths and 19,979 recoveries.
On Friday, Syria’s northwest areas recorded 21 new coronavirus infections.
On Saturday, the opposition Health Directorate announced, through its website, the launch of the Covid-19 vaccination campaign in Idlib, northwestern Syria, which targeted medical personnel as a first batch.
