IED explosion wounds Turkish soldier, damages vehicle in Syria’s Aleppo countryside
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Three people were wounded, including a Turkish soldier, as a result of an IED explosion near a headquarters of a Turkish-backed armed group in the city of al-Bab, in the east Aleppo countryside, Friday.
The explosion occurred near the headquarters of the Turkish-backed Ahrar al-Sharqiya group while a Turkish military convoy was passing near al-Ra’i Roundabout on the outskirts of al-Bab city, a source told North Press.
The source added that the explosion damaged a Turkish military vehicle and wounded three people, including a Turkish soldier, who were transferred to a hospital in the city.
On April 19, an officer of the civil police in Bab city was killed after being fired on by unknown individuals while heading to the industrial zone in the city.
It is worth mentioning that Turkish-backed areas in northwest Syria are witnessing assassinations and successive bombings in light of the armed groups’ inability to control security there.
Since 2017, Turkish troops and the Turkish-backed armed groups have been running the city of al-Bab, 30 kilometers from Turkish border.
