ISIS militant kills 8 civilians in Iraq
ERBIL, Iraq (North Press) – On Saturday, the Iraqi Joint Operations Command offered their condolences to the families of the 8 victims, who were killed by an Islamic State (ISIS) militant for vindictive motives in Salah al-Din governorate, where 6 were of one family in addition to a security member and a lawyer.
On Friday, the Security Media Cell “started an investigation on the circumstances of the crime of killing a family in the village of al-Bu Dor in the city of Tikrit in Salah al-Din governorate.”
“An armed terrorist gang” killed a family of six including two women in a house in the village in addition to a lawyer and a security member,” the Security Media Cell stated.
On Saturday, the Joint Operations Command revealed the tasks of the security delegation that arrived in Salah al-Din.
“Under the instruction of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi, the security delegation arrived in Salah al-Din governorate headed by the Minister of Interior, Othman al-Ghanemi and the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Abdul-Amir al-Shammari to fulfill several tasks,” the spokesman for the Iraq Joint Operations Command, Major General Tahsin al-Khaffaji said in a press statement.
“The first task is to recognize the reasons of the terrorist criminal act and the outcomes of the investigation regarding the attack, in addition to counter any threat by ISIS that may be found in certain areas and take the necessary procedures against them,” he added.
Al-Khafaji pointed out that the other task is to visit the victims’ families and attend the solace.”
“ISIS carried out this crime under vindictive motives after the residents of the village rejected their return, therefore crime is among the series of terrorist acts that ISIS gangs conduct,” he noted.
“Security forces have many tasks to fulfill within the few coming days against the terrorist gangs,” al-Khaffaji stressed.
