Human casualties in a collapse of a residential building in Aleppo

A residential building he collapsed on Monday morning in al-Ma'adi neighborhood of Khan al-Shouk area in Aleppo, as a result of the heavy rain which fell on Sunday night, causing several deaths among civilians and injuring others. While the Syrian Civil Defense Units rushed to exhume the victims from undo the rubble.  

A member of the Civil Defense told North-Press that five bodies, including a child and a woman were exhumed, pointing out that a girl was alive, adding that searching operations are still going on to search for other survivors and to exhume other bodies from under the rubble.  

Jamal al-Din Qassab, a resident in the neighborhood, explained that the girl who was taken out of the rubble and taken into the hospital by the Syrian Red Crescent, is of special needs, noting that her father is still stuck under the rubble without knowing whether he lost his life or not. He confirmed that, the building was composed of five floors and was inhabited by five families.  

For his part, a member of the City Council of Aleppo confirmed that, the cause of the collapse wasn't only the rainfall, but the building was contrary to the conditions of the public safety, which caused its collapse as a result of the heavy rain.
