Al-Shaibani says Syria’s recovery undeterred by Jaramana Bombing
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani said on Friday that the attack targeting a passenger bus in the city of Jaramana, in the Damascus countryside, would not derail Syria’s recovery or efforts to rebuild state institutions, stressing that attempts to undermine security and target civilians would not deter Syrians from moving forward.
In a post on X, al-Shaibani extended his condolences to the families of those killed in the bombing and wished the injured a speedy recovery. He said state institutions would continue fulfilling their responsibility to protect citizens, identify those responsible for such crimes, and bring them to justice.
Turkey and Jordan also condemned the bombing in Jaramana, which killed four people and injured 14 others. Both countries expressed solidarity with Syria, reaffirmed their support for its security and stability, and rejected all forms of violence and terrorism.
Turkish Ambassador to Damascus and the Turkish Foreign Ministry’s Special Representative for Syria, Nuh Yılmaz, said Ankara strongly condemned the attack, stressing that there is no place for terrorism or violence in Syria. He added that Turkey would continue supporting the Syrian people and efforts to strengthen security and stability in the country.
Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates also condemned the bombing. Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Fouad al-Majali reaffirmed Jordan’s full solidarity with Syria, its government and people, and reiterated the Kingdom’s rejection of any acts aimed at undermining the country’s security and stability.
Al-Majali reiterated Jordan’s support for Syria’s security, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of its citizens, while extending condolences to the victims’ families and wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
