Two Israeli soldiers killed, Israeli strikes kill civilian in Lebanon
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Israeli military on Thursday said two soldiers were killed in southern Lebanon, while Lebanon’s Health Ministry said subsequent Israeli strikes killed one person and wounded 12 others.
Israeli media reported that the two soldiers were killed and four others wounded when an improvised explosive device detonated in their deployment area in southern Lebanon.
On Wednesday, the Israeli military launched several strikes on southern Lebanon in response to what it described as a violation of the ceasefire agreement by the Lebanese Hezbollah.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry said an Israeli airstrike on the southern town of Tebnine killed one person and injured 12 others.
The renewed violence coincides with a new round of talks between Israel and Lebanon in Rome, following a U.S.-mediated security arrangement agreed in June aimed at reducing hostilities along the shared border.
