Displaced families return from Idlib camps to Hama homes
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – A convoy carrying around 106 families returned on Sunday from displacement camps in northern Syria to the town of Kafr Zita in northern Hama countryside as part of a voluntary return initiative.
The return follows an earlier voluntary convoy of 98 families that departed displacement camps in northern Idlib on July 29 and returned to the town of Kafr Nabudah in Hama countryside.
The Syrian Civil Defense said through its official platforms that Sunday’s convoy was organized under the patronage of the Idlib and Hama governorates and supervised by the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management and the Directorates of Social Affairs in both governorates, in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and humanitarian organizations.
According to the Syrian Civil Defense, the initiative is part of the “Syria Without Camps” vision, which aims to end internal displacement and promote stability in local communities.
