Al-Sharaa discusses regional issues with UAE, Saudi leaders
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa held on Thursday separate telephone conversations with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, discussing bilateral relations and the latest developments across the region.
According to the Syrian state news agency (SANA), al-Sharaa and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed reviewed ways to strengthen Syrian-UAE relations and expand cooperation in areas that serve the shared interests of both countries.
The two leaders also discussed recent regional developments, stressing the importance of continued coordination and consultation on ongoing issues. They affirmed support for efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability across the region and underscored the need to maintain communication on issues of mutual concern in support of regional stability and joint Arab cooperation.
In a separate phone call, al-Sharaa and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman discussed the current state of Syrian-Saudi relations and ways to broaden cooperation between the two countries across various sectors.
SANA said al-Sharaa reaffirmed Syria’s rejection of an attempt by Iran-backed militias in Iraq to target Saudi oil facilities, reiterating Damascus’ support for the Kingdom’s security and sovereignty.
The two sides also reviewed regional and international developments, as well as ongoing efforts to contain tensions and create conditions that would strengthen security and stability in the region.
