Iran claims U.S. officers killed in attack on Jordan base
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Thursday that several U.S. officers were killed in attacks targeting the U.S.-operated Azraq Air Base in Jordan, describing the operation as retaliation for what it called “U.S. attacks.”
In a statement issued by the IRGC’s Public Relations Department and published by the Iranian Fars News Agency, the force claimed the strikes also destroyed three F-35 fighter jets and caused severe damage to three others stationed at the base.
The IRGC said the attacks were carried out “in response to the crime of the American enemy in its aggression against Qeshm Island in southern Iran.”
The Iranian statement did not specify the number of casualties or provide further details about how the attack was conducted.
At the time of publication, there had been no immediate confirmation or comment from U.S. or Jordanian authorities regarding the Iranian claims.
