KRG Prime Minister, Syrian Education Minister discuss education cooperation
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, on Wednesday met Syrian Minister of Education Mohammed Abdul Rahman Turko in Erbil to discuss strengthening cooperation in the education sector and broader ties between the Kurdistan Region and Syria.
According to the Kurdistan Regional Government website, the two sides discussed the importance of enhancing relations between the Kurdistan Region and Syria across various fields, particularly education.
The KRG said Turko expressed his appreciation to the Kurdistan Regional Government for hosting hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees over the past years and highlighted steps taken by the Syrian transitional government to support education and Kurdish-language instruction in Syria.
Barzani reaffirmed the Kurdistan Regional Government’s readiness to strengthen cooperation and coordination with the Syrian transitional government in a way that contributes to developing bilateral relations, according to the KRG.
