Israeli artillery shells area in northern Quneitra
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces shelled on Sunday the outskirts of Tarnjah village in the northern countryside of Quneitra governorate with four artillery rounds, according to local witnesses.
The shelling targeted an area near the border strip with the occupied Syrian Golan while Israeli drones and reconnaissance aircraft were flying over the region, witnesses told North Press.
The witnesses said the artillery rounds landed in agricultural fields and open areas on the outskirts of the village. No casualties or damage to civilian property had been reported at the time of publication.
Earlier on Sunday, Israeli military forces advanced into the villages of Maariya and al-Ardah in the Yarmouk Basin area of western Daraa countryside. The forces established a military checkpoint, with no reports indicating that they had withdrawn as of the time of publication.
The latest shelling comes amid continued Israeli military activity along parts of southern Syria bordering the occupied Golan.
