Two children injured during Israeli incursion in Daraa

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Two children were injured on Monday after Israeli forces opened fire during a military incursion into the Yarmouk Basin area in the western countryside of Daraa governorate, according to local sources.

Local sources from the Yarmouk Basin told North Press that an Israeli force consisting of six military vehicles entered the area from Wadi al-Raqqad, between the towns of Saysoun and Jamlah, and established a temporary checkpoint on the northern outskirts of the village.

The sources said local residents, including children, attempted to block the roads with stones to prevent the force from advancing further into the area. Israeli soldiers then opened direct fire at the gathering, injuring two children.

The injured children were transferred to nearby hospitals for medical treatment, the sources added.

The area remains tense amid reports of additional Israeli military movements around the village.

No official authority has issued a statement regarding the incident or the condition of the injured children as of the time of publication.
