Syrian official in Hasakah says women’s rights remain priority after integration
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Women’s Board in Hasakah Governorate, northeastern Syria, completes its integration with the Syrian Commission for Family and Population Affairs as part of the ongoing institutional integration process, an official told North Press on Monday.
Rohat Khalil, Chair of the Women’s Board, said the integration is intended to unify efforts and strengthen institutional performance in a way that benefits society as a whole.
“We emphasize that this is an administrative and organizational measure aimed at enhancing efficiency and improving the integration of services,” Khalil said. ” It will not come at the expense of women’s issues, nor at the expense of the rights and achievements women have secured through years of struggle and work.”
She stressed that the new structure would continue to prioritize the protection of women’s rights, promote women’s participation in decision-making, and further develop programs focused on women, families, and children.
Khalil said the Women’s Board’s 390 employees have all been accepted into the Syrian Commission for Family and Population Affairs, with staff and offices to be reassigned in line with the commission’s new organizational structure following the integration.
She added that, under the Board’s internal regulations established in 2014, several existing offices will be redistributed to other institutions, while new departments will be created as part of the commission’s updated organizational framework.
