The ministry further alleged that Ibrahim attended an inciting gathering organized at the invitation of a man identified as Ghazal Ghazal, where he obtained a military pistol intended for use against security forces.

It said he then headed to the Naval Academy, where he allegedly took part in shelling security forces with artillery before fleeing after security forces regained control of the area.

According to the ministry, investigations found that Ibrahim participated in the events of March 6 last year, during which an armed group targeted a security convoy.

The ministry said he commanded an artillery unit in Suwayda Governorate and participated in shelling civilian neighborhoods and areas in Daraa Governorate during the Syrian uprising before being transferred to battlefronts in Homs and Idlib.

According to the statement, Ibrahim graduated from the Military Academy with a specialization in artillery and served in several military formations.

It also accused him of communicating with another individual and assigning him to monitor the movements of Internal Security Forces.

The Interior Ministry did not provide further details regarding the legal proceedings against the detainee.
