Syria seizes 1.3 million Captagon pills in Homs operation

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Syrian authorities announced on Friday the seizure of 1.3 million Captagon pills and the arrest of a suspect during a security operation in Homs governorate, as part of efforts to combat drug trafficking.

The Syrian Interior Ministry said in a statement that the Anti-Narcotics Directorate carried out the operation after monitoring and tracking the suspected shipment.

According to the ministry, officers arrested the man allegedly responsible for the shipment, identified by the initials (R.W.), and confiscated approximately 1.3 million Captagon pills that had been hidden inside plastic buckets in an apparent attempt to disguise the drugs.

The ministry said the shipment was fully confiscated, while investigations are continuing to identify other individuals involved in the case.

It added that the suspect and anyone found to be connected to the operation will be referred to the competent judicial authorities for legal proceedings.
