SDF chief offers condolences over Graham’s reported death

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Mazloum Abdi, the commander-in-chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), expressed on Sunday sorrow over the reported death of US Senator Lindsey Graham, praising his public service and support for the Kurdish people.

In a post on X, Abdi wrote: “I am profoundly saddened to learn of the passing of Senator Lindsey Graham. His extensive service, principled leadership, steadfast support for the Kurds, and unwavering advocacy for a peaceful and just Syria will be etched in history.”

He added: “I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones during this time of grief. May he rest in eternal peace.”

Graham had been a prominent member of the US Senate and was known for his positions on US foreign policy, including issues related to Syria and support for Kurdish partners in the fight against ISIS.
