Government soldier killed, two injured clearing mines near Tishrin Dam
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – A member of the Syrian government forces was killed and two others were injured on Thursday while carrying out mine clearance operations near Tishrin Dam in the eastern countryside of Aleppo governorate, the Syrian Ministry of Defense said.
The ministry said in a statement that the casualties occurred while the team was conducting demining operations in the vicinity of Tishrin Dam in eastern Aleppo governorate.
No further details were provided regarding the type of explosive devices or the exact location of the incident.
The incident follows a similar accident reported on July 1, when one member of the government forces was killed and another injured while dismantling landmines in the countryside of Homs governorate, according to the Media and Communication Administration of the Ministry of Defense.
