QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa met on Wednesday Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in the Turkish capital, Ankara, according to Syria’s state-run SANA news agency.
The meeting was attended by Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani and members of the accompanying delegations.
Earlier in the day, al-Sharaa also met U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the NATO Summit, which is being hosted in Turkey.
Al-Sharaa arrived in Ankara on Wednesday as the second day of the 36th NATO Summit continued.
According to SANA, the talks between al-Sharaa and Erdoğan focused on bilateral relations, the latest regional developments, and mechanisms for cooperation on several issues of mutual interest between Syria and Turkey.
No further details about the outcomes of the meeting were immediately announced.
