Israeli forces set up checkpoint in southern Quneitra countryside
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Israeli military forces entered on Tuesday the town of Kodna in the southern countryside of Quneitra governorate, where they established a temporary checkpoint and inspected civilians while checking identity cards, according to a local correspondent.
North Press correspondent in Quneitra said the patrol consisted of four Israeli military Humvee vehicles carrying soldiers. The convoy entered Kodna from the occupied Golan Heights before setting up a temporary checkpoint inside the town.
The forces stopped pedestrians, inspected passersby, and checked personal identification cards. No arrests had been reported at the time of publication, while the patrol remained deployed in the area, the correspondent said.
Israeli military incursions have become a near-daily occurrence in Quneitra governorate, particularly in villages and towns near the ceasefire line. These operations are often accompanied by temporary checkpoints, patrols, and searches, raising concerns among local residents.
