Al-Sharaa receives Iraqi foreign minister in Damascus

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa received on Monday Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and the accompanying delegation at the People’s Palace in Damascus, in the presence of Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani, according to official statements.

Earlier in the day, al-Shaibani welcomed Hussein and his delegation at Tishreen Palace, where the two foreign ministers discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation across various fields in a manner that serves the shared interests of the Syrian and Iraqi peoples, Syria’s Foreign Ministry said through its official accounts.

The Syrian Presidency said the meeting between President al-Sharaa and the Iraqi delegation focused on bilateral relations and ways to further develop cooperation in different sectors.

According to the Presidency, the two sides also discussed regional and international developments and stressed the importance of enhancing coordination and consultation between Syria and Iraq in addressing shared challenges.
