Iraqi FM arrives in Syria for talks on bilateral ties, regional security
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein on Monday arrived in Syria for an official visit at the invitation of Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad al-Shibani.
Iraq’s Foreign Ministry stated that Hussein’s visit comes in response to an invitation from his Syrian counterpart and will include a series of meetings with senior Syrian officials.
The talks are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across political, security, economic, and trade sectors.
According to the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, the discussions will also address the latest regional and international developments, as well as ways to enhance coordination and consultation between Baghdad and Damascus in confronting shared challenges.
The two sides are also expected to discuss efforts aimed at reinforcing regional security and stability, while exploring mechanisms to deepen bilateral cooperation in ways that serve the mutual interests of both countries and contribute to broader regional stability.
