Israeli forces raid homes in Syria’s Quneitra, question journalist
QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces on Wednesday carried out a series of raids on residential homes in the southern countryside of Quneitra, southern Syria, including the interrogation of a local journalist.
Local sources told North Press that the operation targeted ten homes in the town of Saida, in southern Quneitra countryside.
Among the properties searched was the home of Sanad al-Hindawi, a journalist and employee of the Quneitra Media Directorate. Sources said Israeli soldiers questioned al-Hindawi inside his residence during the raid.
No arrests were reported during the operation.
The raids come two days after Israeli forces entered the village of Saida al-Golan in southern Quneitra countryside and established a temporary checkpoint at the village junction, where pedestrians and passing vehicles were subjected to inspections.
Border areas in the countryside of Daraa and Quneitra have witnessed near-daily Israeli military movements and incursions in recent weeks, raising concerns among residents over the growing security presence along the frontier.
