Asayish ban motorcycle movement in Hasakah governorate

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces (Asayish) announced on Wednesday a ban on the movement of motorcycles throughout Hasakah governorate, citing security concerns and an increase in crimes and traffic incidents associated with their use.

In a statement published on their official website, the Asayish said the decision was taken “based on public interest requirements and out of concern for the safety and security of citizens,” following security reports and statistics that recorded a noticeable rise in crimes and accidents linked to motorcycles.

According to the statement, all types of motorcycles are prohibited from operating within the administrative boundaries of Hasakah governorate, effective immediately and until further notice.

The Asayish instructed all security units and patrols to strictly enforce the measure around the clock. The statement said any motorcycle found in violation of the ban would be impounded through official procedures conducted by the competent authorities.

They added that legal and administrative measures would be taken against drivers or owners of motorcycles operating in violation of the directive, without exception.

The statement stressed that violators would bear full legal responsibility for any breaches and that no exemptions or leniency would be granted under any circumstances.

The Asayish said the measure forms part of ongoing efforts to curb violations that threaten civil peace and public safety, calling on residents to comply with the directive to support security and stability across the governorate.
