Israeli forces detain two Children in Quneitra Countryside

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces detained onThursday two children from a village in the southern Quneitra countryside, according to state media reports.

The children, aged 14 and 15, were taken into custody while herding livestock near the village of Tel al-Ahmar al-Gharbi, in the Quneitra countryside of southern Syria.

State media reported that the two minors were subsequently taken to a position belonging to the Israeli forces stationed in the area of Tel al-Ahmar al-Gharbi.

The Quneitra countryside includes parts of the Syrian Golan Heights, most of which has been occupied by Israel since 1967. Israel later effectively annexed the area in a move not recognized by the international community. A UNDOF-patrolled buffer zone separates the occupied territory from areas under Syrian government control.
