Syrian authorities arrest 6 wanted individuals in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Security forces of the Syrian transitional government arrested six wanted individuals in the city of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, and its surrounding countryside in connection with various charges, a security source told North Press on Tuesday.
The source said that a security patrol raided the al-Joura neighborhood in central Deir ez-Zor on Monday evening, arresting two individuals, one of whom was identified as Dawoud al-Satm, on charges of drug trafficking and distribution.
In a separate operation, another security patrol raided the town of al-Mayadin in the eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside and arrested an activist known as Abu Shabouh al-Furati over the publication of inciteful videos and accusations targeting senior government officials, including insults directed at them.
Meanwhile, in the town of Abu Kamal, a security patrol surrounded the home of an individual identified as Laith al-Barghouth and arrested four members of the al-Assad regime.
According to the source, the four detainees were found in possession of a Kalashnikov rifle and several military-grade pistols.
