Asayish capture 4 major captagon dealers, seize drugs in Syria’s Qamishli

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) announced on Saturday the capture of four people described as “major dealers” of the captagon drug in Qamishli, northeastern Syria.

In a statement, Asayish said their forces seized 283,000 captagon pills that were prepared for distribution and trafficking across the Jazira region (Hasakah Governorate) and nearby cities and towns. The drugs were found in the possession of the four suspects.

The Asayish also confiscated five kilograms of the narcotic substance crystal meth during the operation.

According to the statement, the capture came as part of a “qualitative security operation” carried out by the Anti-Narcotics units in the Jazira region, following close surveillance and the collection of reliable security intelligence, within the framework of combating drug trafficking.

The Asayish added that the detainees, along with the seized materials, were referred to the competent judiciary to complete investigations and take the necessary legal measures against them.

The Asayish reaffirmed their commitment to continuing the pursuit of drug trafficking and smuggling networks, stressing that they will not tolerate any activities that threaten community security and public health.

The Asayish also called on residents to cooperate with security forces and report any suspicious activities that could contribute to combating drugs.
