ISIS claims attack on SDF vehicle in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Islamic State (ISIS) claimed on Wednesday responsibility for targeting a military vehicle belonging to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in a town east of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
In a statement published by its affiliated media outlet, Amaq News Agency, the group said that its militants opened fire with machine guns on Dec. 15 on an SDF military vehicle on a road leading to the town of al-Dahla in the eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside,.
According to the statement, the attack resulted in injuries among several SDF fighters who were inside the vehicle.
Since early December, ISIS has claimed responsibility for 10 attacks across Syria, five of which targeted SDF forces in Deir ez-Zor.
