Israeli forces advance into villages in southern Quneitra
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Israeli military forces carried out on Tuesday a new ground incursion into several villages and towns in the southern countryside of Quneitra, southern Syria, according to local sources cited by North Press.
The movement follows an incident a day earlier, when the Israeli army detained three young men from the town of al-Hamidiyah in the Quneitra countryside while they were collecting firewood. The circumstances of their arrest and their current whereabouts remain unclear.
Local sources told North Press that an Israeli military unit composed of three vehicles entered the area, including two Toyota Hilux pickup trucks and a black van. The convoy reportedly advanced toward the village of Bariqa, one of the rural communities located near the area of separation.
Local residents told North Press that the Israeli patrols caused temporary disruptions to movement in the area, with some farmers and civilians avoiding nearby roads during the military activity. No injuries or property damage were reported during Tuesday’s incursion.
