ISIS claims attack killing 4 Syrian government security forces in Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – The Islamic State (ISIS) claimed on Monday responsibility for an attack that killed four members of security forces of the Syrian transitional government in the city of Maarat al-Numan in the south of Idlib, northwestern Syria.
Security sources had told North Press on Sunday that unknown gunmen opened fire on a security patrol while it was conducting routine duties inside the city, resulting in deaths and injuries among its members.
In a statement released by its affiliated media outlet Amaq, ISIS said that its militants targeted a government security patrol with machine-gun fire along the Maarat al-Numan road.
According to the statement, the attack killed four security personnel, wounded another, and damaged the patrol vehicle.
