Turkish border guards kill 2 people in NE Syria
SERE KANIYE, Syria (North Press) – Two people were killed and three others were wounded on Monday after Turkish border guards opened fire on them while attempting to cross into Turkey from the countryside of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), northeastern Syria.
A local source told North Press that the group of five tried to cross the border from the village of al-Mutla, east of the city of Sere Kaniye. Two of them were killed instantly, while the remaining three sustained serious injuries.
The source added that Turkish authorities have refused to transfer the wounded into Turkey for treatment, despite their critical condition.
He confirmed that the bodies of the deceased were transferred to the National Hospital (formerly Roj Hospital) in Sere Kaniye.
