DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Syria’s Foreign Ministry on Monday called on the United Nations and the UN Security Council to take urgent and effective measures against what it described as “Israeli violations and aggression” on Syrian territory, following a large-scale military incursion.
Earlier the same day, Israeli forces carried out multiple incursions in Rural Damascus and Quneitra, conducting extensive searches in several locations.
Syrian Foreign Minister Asad al-Shibani accused Israel of breaching the 1974 Disengagement Agreement and UN Security Council resolutions by establishing intelligence centers and military posts in restricted zones.
In a statement published on its official website, the ministry said, “Syria strongly condemns the military incursion carried out by Israel in the Beit Jinn area of Rural Damascus , through a force of 11 military vehicles and nearly 60 soldiers, seizing Tal Bat al-Warda at the foot of Mount Hermon in blatant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and unity.”
The ministry described the escalation as “serious,” warning it represents a direct threat to regional peace and security and reflects what it called Israel’s “aggressive policy.”
The statement further noted that continued Israeli actions undermine efforts to stabilize the region and increase tensions across southern Syria.
