Israeli strikes hit military site near Jableh for fourth time this month
LATAKIA, Syria (North Press) – Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on Wednesday evening targeting the 107th Brigade in the village of Zama, near the coastal city of Jableh in Syria’s Latakia countryside, local sources and eyewitnesses said.
The strikes, launched shortly after nightfall, caused a powerful explosion and visible flames rising from the site, according to a North Press reporter on the ground. Civil defense units quickly deployed to contain the fire, but no information was immediately available on potential casualties or the full extent of the damage.
Local sources and social media activists said earlier that the 107th Brigade in Jableh, known as “Zama,” had been preparing to serve as a Turkish military base on the Syrian coast.
No official statement has yet been released by the Syrian Ministry of Defense or other state bodies regarding the incident.
