163 ISIS operatives killed in 95 operations in Syria, Iraq – CENTCOM
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Monday that it killed and captured about 200 members of the Islamic State (ISIS) in Syria and Iraq over the past two months.
In a statement, the CENTCOM said its forces carried out 95 operations against ISIS in Syria and Iraq over the past two months, resulting in the killing and capture of about 200 members of the extremist group.
It explained that the operations were conducted in cooperation with security forces in Syria and Iraq (Syrian Democratic Forces, Iraqi Army, Peshmerga Forces), while some were carried out unilaterally in Syria.
According to the statement, the operations resulted in the killing of 163 members of the group and the capture of 33 others, noting that among them were 30 leaders at varying levels from high to mid-level.
General Michael Kurilla, commander of U.S. Central Command, stated: “Alongside our coalition and Iraqi partners forces, we will continue to aggressively pursue these terrorists and disrupt their capability to conduct operations against U.S. interests, as well as those of our allies and partners,” according to the statement.
