Rockets target crossing between government, opposition

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Unknown rocket attack targeted on Monday the Abu al-Zandin crossing between the government area and the area controlled by the Turkish-backed opposition armed factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), leaving two individuals injured.

North Press correspondent, citing local sources, reported that the crossing was hit by rocket fire while civilians were entering government-controlled areas.

The source confirmed that the attack resulted in injuries to two individuals, including one working for a humanitarian organization, and mentioned accusations against Iranian-backed militias stationed nearby.

The sources noted that the interim government linked to the opposition claimed the crossing aimed to assist Syrians fleeing the Lebanon war, raising doubts about this motive and suggesting it aligned with Turkey’s desire to facilitate the crossing.

The Abu al-Zandin crossing connects the city of al-Bab in eastern Aleppo, under SNA control since 2017, with areas eastern Aleppo held by government forces.
