Israeli airstrikes hit government sites in southern Syria

QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – Israeli airstrikes targeted on Tuesday multiple Syrian government forces’ sites in the governorates of Quneitra, Daraa, and Suwayda in southern Syria.

Ahrar Houran, a local website, reported that Israeli warplanes carried out several airstrikes on the towns of Rafid, Mu’allaqa, Heiran, and Kodana in the southern countryside of Quneitra, where intensified Syrian troop movements were observed.

Government forces reportedly mobilized units from the Mechanized Brigade 112 and the Brigade 61 in the area, positioning tanks and deploying personnel around military installations.

Sources confirmed that one shell landed near a United Nations peacekeeping point shortly after a patrol by U.N. forces, underscoring heightened risks in the region.

Meanwhile, the Syrian government’s Thaala military airbase in Suwayda’s western countryside was also hit by an aerial strike on Tuesday, which sources suspect was also Israeli. No casualties were reported.

A local source told North Press that an Israeli aircraft targeted Tel Jabiye in Daraa’s northwestern countryside earlier on Tuesday, a site where the government forces from the Air Defense Brigade 61 are stationed.
