SDF kills prominent ISIS leader in Deir ez-Zor
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Friday the killing of a prominent ISIS leader in Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
SDF’s Anti-Terrorism Units (YAT), with support and participation of the U.S.-led Global Coalition forces carried out on Thursday an operation in the town of al-Busayrah, east of Deir ez-Zor.
The operation resulted in killing of Muhammad Ahmad al-Hassan, aka Omar al-Shami who was responsible for planning and participating in attacks on al-Sina’a Prison in Hasakah in January 2022.
