Israeli airstrike hits military posts in southern Syria

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Israeli army launched early on Friday an airstrike on military posts used by Iranian-backed militias in Daraa Governorate in southern Syria.

A local source told North Press that Israeli warplanes targeted the military radar of the Syrian government forces and the agricultural airport in the south of the city of Izraa, east of Daraa.

The source said the two sites were used by militias affiliated with Iran as a headquarters.

According to the source, no casualties were reported as a result of the strike.

It is worth mentioning that the military radar was targeted in October 2023.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) did not comment on the attack.

Israel regularly targets military posts of the Syrian government forces and the Iranian-backed militias in Syria.

Early in April, Israeli airstrikes targeted Iran’s consulate in Damascus, which is adjacent to the main embassy building, killing five IRGC officers and two generals, including Gen. Mohammad Reza Zahedi, commander of the IRGC’s Quds Force in Syria and Lebanon.
