ISIS claims responsibility for attacking SDF in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for launching an attack against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) north of Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria.
The ISIS-run Amaq News Agency said in a statement that ISIS militants attacked a gathering of SDF fighters near al-Jafra oil field in the village of al-Hariji in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
The attack resulted in a damage to a four-wheel-drive vehicle and at least two injuries of the SDF fighters, according to the statement.
An SDF official told North Press that a patrol of the SDF near al-Jafra oil field was subjected to a gun attack. However, he confirmed that the attack did not cause any casualties.
