Turkish forces shell 7 villages in Syria’s Manbij
MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces targeted on Tuesday several villages on the frontlines between the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the countryside of Manbij, northern Syria.
The Manbij Military Council (MMC) of the SDF said in a statement that Turkish forces renewed artillery shelling on populated villages in the northern and western countryside of Manbij.
The shelling targeted the villages of al-Farat, al-Dandaniyah, Umm Adasa, Sayada, Qart Weran, al-Yanli, and Arima, according to the statement.
Turkish forces, along with SNA factions, have been shelling villages adjacent to the frontlines with heavy artillery and mortar shells since early Tuesday, according to MMC’s statement.
On Jan. 10, a woman was injured as a result of Turkish shelling that targeted the villages of al-Kawikli and Qart Weran in the western countryside of Manbij.
