QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Hundreds of residents of the city of Qamishli, northeast Syria, protested on Monday in front of the Russian base on the western outskirts of the city to condemn the recent Turkish attacks in the region.

Since Oct. 5 and until Monday, 172 sites in areas and cities in north and northeast Syria have been stuck by Turkish airstrikes, shells, and drone attacks, targeting residential areas, military posts and infrastructure, including oil fields, gas plants, power stations, and others, according to the Monitoring and Documentation Department of North Press.

The residents demanded Russia and the US quickly intervene to stop the Turkish bombardment which also targets civilians, one of the participants in the protest told North Press.

A delegation of the protesters handed Russian forces a protest note expressing their demands of putting an end to the Turkish attacks.
