Turkish border guards assault 15 Syrians in Syria’s Afrin
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Turkish border guards assaulted on Saturday at night a group of Syrians while trying to cross the Syrian-Turkish border in the countryside of Afrin Region, northwest Syria.
A local source from the area told North Press that the border guards assaulted about 15 people, including children and women, after arresting them west of the village of Mosako, in Rajo countryside, northwest the city of Afrin.
The border guards aggressively beat the group ahead of handing them over to Military Police of Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka Syrian National Army (SNA), that posed fines to release them.
On May 15, the border guards shot at and wounded four civilians, including a woman, while they were trying to cross the border into Turkey from the village of Azmarin, west Idlib, northwest Syria.
The Turkish border guards continue to shoot at civilians, who want to cross into Turkey looking for a better future.
