Protests break out in SNA-held area in Syria’s Aleppo
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – A village in the city of Azaz, north of Syria’s Aleppo, witnessed on Wednesday a popular rage due to the corruption of the local council, affiliated with Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka Syrian National Army (SNA), and ignorance of servicing the village.
An exclusive source told North Press that the residents of the village of KafarKalbin demonstrated in front of the council, calling on the council’s staff to step down due to corruption issues.
The Civil Police of the SNA, mobilized in the village to stop the protests.
The protestors called on the head of the council Mustafa al-Anwar to step down and charged the council of thefts and corruption, according to the source.
Since July 2012, Azaz and its countryside have been under the control of the SNA.
The SNA held-areas continue to witness a security chaos with many clashes and recurrent explosions amid the inability of the factions to maintain order.
