Earthquake victims in government-held areas rise to 3.642
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) –The Ministry of Health of the Syrian government announced on Thursday night that the number of victims of the earthquake that struck the country has risen to 3.642.
Syria’s Health Minister Hassan al-Ghabbash, according to the ministry’s media office, said, “The number of victims of the earthquake has risen to 3.642, including 1.347 deaths and 2.295 injuries.”
He added that the injured received different kinds of treatment, depending on their condition.
He said that the emergency teams work with its full capacity to reach all victims and recover them from under the rubble, as well as taking them to hospitals as quickly as possible.
At dawn on Monday, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Syria and Turkey, killing more than 20.000 people and injuring much more, let alone destroying an unaccounted number of buildings.
