US coordinates with SDF to support earthquake-affected areas

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said it has been in close coordination with Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to create a ground by which it could accelerate support as soon as possible to people affected by the earthquake.

In a statement, CENTCOM said they are in close coordination with the Department of Defense, US Department of State, the US Agency for International Development, and their partners the Syrian Democratic Forces to “surge support” to those affected by the earthquake.

“We express our deepest sympathies at the loss of life as a result of this disaster,” General Michael “Erik” Kurilla, commander of US Central Command, said.

In the meantime and based on information obtained from a well- informed source, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) is preparing to send aid to Syrian territories affected by the earthquake.
