50 Casualties in AANES Areas following Earthquake
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Health Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced on Monday 50 casualties in the areas under its control following an earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
Jewan Mustafa, co-chair of the Health Board, stated that 6 people died and 33 were wounded in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiye neighborhoods in Aleppo, 5 others in northern countryside of Aleppo, 4 in Kobani in addition to 2 in Manbij.
Mustafa stressed that all hospitals in AANES-held areas are ready to receive emergencies whether from areas inside or outside northeast Syria.
Earlier on Monday, the Syrian Health Ministry announced the rise of the casualties by the earthquake to 1.042 wounded and 326 dead in Aleppo, Lattakia, Hama, and Tartus adding that the number of casualties was expected to rise.
The Syrian National Earthquake Center reported a 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Syria’s northwest.
