Two ISIS militants arrested in KRI
ERBIL, KRI, Iraq (North Press) – Iraqi Counter Terrorism Service, in coordination with the security apparatus in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, in Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), announced on Sunday the capture of two Islamic State (ISIS) militants.
The security apparatus said, in a statement, that their forces, in coordination with Sulaymaniyah Counter-Terrorism Regiment, were able to capture one of the two militants in the town of Chamchamal in Sulaymaniyah.
Another ISIS militant was arrested in coordination with Security Department of Sulaymaniyah.
On Sunday at dawn, the Iraqi forces launched a security operation in two locations, in addition, another Iraqi force launched a combing operation looking for ISIS sleeper cells in eastern Saladin Governorate.
On Saturday at night, an Iraqi intelligence force arrested two women involved in a network of 4 women who receive and distribute money to ISIS women and families in the towns of al-Zab and al-Hawija in southern Kirkuk.
Earlier, the police announced killing an ISIS militant wearing a suicide vest trying to infiltrate into the village of al-Sharifiya in Riyad district in Kirkuk.
